OUTREACH ACTIVITIES UNDER SCHEDULE CAST SUB PLAN(SCSP)
As part of the socioeconomic and financial inclusion strategy of the Government to ensure that all segments of the society, particularly the Scheduled castes, should be benefited. The Government allocates funds across Ministries/ Departments for different schemes where targeted financial and physical benefits can accrue to the Scheduled Castes. In the mid- 1970s, the Special Component Plan and Tribal Sub Plan were initiated. A dedicated unit was constituted in every Central Ministry/Department for the welfare and development of SCs (and STs) as nodal unit for formulation and implementation of SCSP (and TSP).
The Ministry of AYUSH has initiated “SCHEDULED CASTE SUB PLAN PROGRAMME (SCSP)”, launched in October, 2015 through Central Council for Research in Ayurvedic Science (CCRAS) in 19 State through its 20 peripheral institutes. The main objectives of the programme is to provide medical aid at door steps of SC community, study of the living condition of the SC people, study their dietetic habits, collection of its Socio-demographic profile, prevalence of diseases and collection of information related to health status, propagation of Ayurveda concepts on preventive health in relation to Patyaapathya and Sadvritta etc.
The core objectives of this study comprised of the study of dietetic habits, socio-demographic profile, nature and frequency of prevalent diseases and collection of information related to health status, propagation of knowledge about hygiene and prevention of diseases and providing medical aid by conducting door to door survey. Besides, Health awareness camps were also conducted at identified place such as office/community centre/temple etc. .
The following SC population dominated areas (within convenient distance) were selected by the Central Ayurvedic Research Institute for cardiovascular Diseases, functioning under Central Council for Research in Ayurvedic Sciences during 2015 – 2024

National Pharmacovigilance Programme of ASU drugs
CARI, New Delhi is a Peripheral Pharmacovigilance Centre (PPvC) under National Institute of Ayurveda, Jaipur (IPvC).
Achievements
- NABH accreditation obtained for Hospital on 07.10.2022.
- NABL accreditation obtained for pathology and bio-chemistry labs on 13.03.2023.
- The institute is recognized for PhD from Datta Meghe deemed to be university, Wardha, Maharastra in subjects- Kayachikitsa, Shalya, Basic principles.
- This institute is running Panchkarma Technician Training Course accredited to Health Care Sector Skill Council since 2019-20
- The Central Ethics Committee of CCRAS is also registered under DHR (Department of Health Research), ICMR.
- MoUs have been done for the collaborative projects with AIIMS, New Delhi, Safdarjung hospital, Delhi, AIIA, Sarita vihar, Delhi, ILBS, Delhi
